COMPANY HISTORY

Audio International Ltd. (formerly Megavoice Ireland Ltd) was set up in March, 2003 to act as a Worldwide Sales agent for a range of hand held audio products. The company changed it’s name to AIL in March, 2007.

In May, 2004 the Directors held discussions with PERA, a based Research & Development organisation, requesting assistance in securing European Union funding under the FP6 program to develop a project called “Medi-Voice”.

The project was to produce “ A Low Cost, Environmentally, Friendly Smart Pharmaceutical Packaging Technology to Differentiate European SME Suppliers to Service the Needs of the Blind, Illiterate and Europe’s Aging Population.”

In 2004 the EU received some 963 projects under this program but only had sufficient monies to support 92 projects. Medi-Voice project, owned entirely by Audio International Ltd (AIL) was one of the projects chosen.

AIL pulled together the following and agreed a consortium to take the project forward:

 1. AIL - as co-ordinator

 2. Three European Companies in the plan - supplier chain

 3.  One Professional Body - consultant

 4.  Multi-National Pharmaceutical Company - End Purchaser

 5.  Three Research Partners - RTD’s.

A consortium agreement between all parties was drawn up and signed.

The EU contract offered the consortium 686,562 Euro of cash assistance over the two year period of the project with the understanding that at least another 686,562 Euro in time and expense would also be put into the project by the consortium members.

The initial contact with the EU was for a two year project which has been extended by another six months to allow successful completion. The project was due to be finished by 31 August, 2007 but this has been extended to 28 February, 2008.
